Thirteen Maine companies have been recognized as part of Inc. magazine's annual list of fastest growing companies,with Portland-based Vets First Choice coming in 30th for its 6,133% growth over the last three years.
The pharmacy service for pets, founded by Idexx Laboratories founder and former CEO David Shaw in 2008, posted $7.5 million in revenues in 2011. The company ranks second in the business products and services category of the Inc. magazine rankings.
Other Maine companies on the magazine's list include Tilson Technology Management (No. 901), KPI Direct (No. 1091), Bar Harbor Foods (No. 2208) and Winxnet (No. 3347) and GWI (No. 4797).
GWI has been named one of Inc. Magazine's fastest growing private companies in America five times, according to a company press release – and in 2011, CEO Fletcher Kittredge was named Maine's Business Leader of The Year by Mainebiz.
JSI Store Fixtures and Nationwide Payment Solutions led in revenues among the Maine companies, at $26.7 million and $18.5 million, respectively.
