Significant professional accomplishment: iBec’s B Corp certification. It represents years of diligence to make iBec a company that is a great place to work, delights our clients, gives back to our community and minimizes its negative impact on the environment.
Passion project: I’m really proud to serve on University of Southern Maine’s Foundation Board. We’ve raised nearly $14 million so far for the Great University Campaign to help build up scholarships so that more students can graduate college in four years and without debt. I started iBec from a business plan that I wrote my senior year at USM; now it feels good to give back and help create more opportunities for others.
Audacious goal: I have a dream to one day live on an island in Maine where I make art all day and I tell time by the tide and the moon (but I still have internet, of course).
Favorite quote: “We’ll figure it out!” We say this so much at iBec, it has become an inside joke. To me this phrase embodies enthusiasm to take risks and explore the unknown.
Influential book: I love the way Ari Weinzweig talks about building an authentic culture in “A Lapsed Anarchist’s Approach to Building a Great Business.”
Favorite TV shows: Anything Nathan Fielder creates — he’s a mastermind at finding the perfect balance between improv, art, and the human experience.
How do you recharge: When I’m on or by the ocean, my stress disappears. I have a huge collection of beach rocks, sea glass, and other found treasures. The magical feeling of a perfect beach day inspires my Wildwood Oyster Co. handbag designs.
