This year the Mainebiz Book of Lists has more than three dozen lists.
They measure public corporations, social service nonprofits, colleges and universities, CEO salaries and the like.
Most of the lists run in issues throughout the year and are updated and compiled in this issue, so they’re as up-to-date as we can get. A few lists run exclusively in the Book of Lists.
Mainebiz will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024, and the Book of Lists has been key resource for most of those years.
A word of thanks
The Book of Lists is a team effort, but there are a few people on the content team who are indispensable to the production. Our research team consists of two people: Stephanie Meagher, our research director; Heide Martin, the research assistant. They are affiliated with our headquarters at the New England Business Media offices in Worcester, Mass., and produce content for the books of lists for the Hartford Business Journal and Worcester Business Journal, sister publications of Mainebiz.
The Mainebiz editorial team is responsible for editing the lists.
The person who makes the publication look good is the tireless Matt Selva, the Mainebiz art director.
A note on the cover
This year’s Book of Lists cover is a compilation of photos shot by Fred Field, a Cumberland-based photographer who has been doing work for Mainebiz for several years.
The images on the cover came from his photo sessions throughout 2023. We think you’ll agree he did a nice job.
