AG sues Biddeford oil dealer

The Maine Attorney General's office has filed suit against the owner of three Biddeford-based heating companies who allegedly bilked customers out of tens of thousands of dollars.

The AG's office today said it has sued Nicholas Curro, owner of Veilleux Oil & Service, Price-Rite Fuel and Perron Fuel, for failing to honor customers' pre-paid oil contracts, according to a press release. Police yesterday seized Curro's records, after both they and the AG's office received more than 100 complaints from customers who prepaid for oil but stopped getting deliveries, Portland news channel WCSH 6 reported. The lawsuit seeks restitution on behalf of the customers and a penalty of $10,000 for each intentional violation of the Unfair Trade Practices Act, according to the release.

The amount of money owed to customers is still unknown, but investigators estimate it at tens of thousands of dollars, WCSH 6 reported.
