Apothecary By Design, a Portland-based specialty pharmaceutical company, has acquired Village Fertility Pharmacy in Waltham, Mass.
Terms of the transaction, which was announced on Thursday, were not disclosed.
Apothecary By Design President Tom Madden said in a statement that the acquisition will expand and enhance the company to better support patients nationally in the $1 billion fertility pharmaceutical market.
“By joining forces, [Apothecary By Design] and Village are better positioned than ever to serve hopeful parents-to-be throughout the country,” Madden said. “As an enterprise, we have capabilities that few others can even approach. Our combined best practices, expertise and resources will benefit the business, but just as importantly, our patients.”
This is just the latest development in Apothecary By Design’s growth, which includes the acquisition of Healy Pharmacy of Warrenville, Ill., in March to expand the pharmaceutical company’s Midwest footprint.
“Our objective is to bring [Apothecary By Design’s] model of collaborative, patient-driven care to markets throughout the country. And like our pharmacy in the Chicago area, Village is an ideal partner to help achieve that goal,” said Apothecary By Design CFO Catherine Cloudman in a release.
