Harriman Associates, an architecture and engineering firm based in Auburn, has acquired an architectural consulting firm in Manchester, N.H., the Foster's Daily Democrat reported today.
Clif Greim, Harriman's president, told Mainebiz this morning that the company on July 1 purchased the assets of Team Design Inc., but would not specify the amount paid. Team Design's eight employees all have agreed to stay on and will be added to Harriman's current 90-person workforce, Greim said. The acquisition will allow Harriman to work closer to its New Hampshire client base and expand the services it offers in that state from K-12 institutions to higher education, health care and retail institutions, Greim said. Harriman also plans to expand the Manchester office to include both architecture and engineering services within the year.
The Manchester office is Harriman's first out-of-state location. The company also has an office in Portland.
