Auburn businessman begins race for Congress

An Auburn businessman yesterday announced his intent to run for Congress on the Republican ticket in the 2010 election.

Jason Levesque, founder and president of Argo Marketing Group in Auburn, will seek the Republican nomination for Maine's 2nd Congressional District seat, according to the Associated Press. Levesque, a 34-year-old Army veteran, said the focus of his campaign will be to energize central and northern Maine's economy so families don't have to leave the state for opportunities elsewhere, the AP said. If Levesque wins the nomination, he'll run against incumbent Rep. Mike Michaud, who is currently serving his fourth term.
