AUBURN — The East Auburn Baptist Church unveiled a $4.1 million, 17,000-square foot expansion last weekend.
The expansion at the 560 Park Ave. site is the largest in the church’s 210-year history in the city, church officials said. It has been at its Park Avenue location since 2007, moving there from Turner Street.
Ledgewood Construction, of Portland, managed the project, and Harriman Associates, of Auburn, was the project architect.
The project broke ground in July 2017.
The new space, which was built onto existing one-story space, will provide new staff offices and add six meeting/classrooms, a music room, youth room, 142-seat chapel, cafe and a larger foyer and welcome center. The church gave tours of the new space to the public last weekend.
About 1,200 people regularly attend the church, officials said in a news release.
