Amid prime camping season, the city of Auburn announced it will host Maine's largest RV and camping show for seasons to come.
The show, which is presented by the Maine Campground Owners Association, is open to the public and features the newest models of recreational vehicles and also hosts 60 campground operators.
The five-year deal means Auburn's Norway Savings Bank Arena will host the MECOA Vacationland RV & Camping Show through 2027.
In past years, the show had been held in Portland. After a two-year break during the pandemic, the show was hosted in Auburn for the first time in April.
“Since the move from Portland, Maine, attendance numbers have expanded tremendously. Norway Savings Bank Arena is centrally located and much more accessible to the majority of our campground members and RV dealers who attend," said Kathy Dyer, executive director of the Maine Campground Owners Association.
The trade association represents more than 180 licensed campgrounds and is part of the Maine Hospitality and Tourism Alliance, supporting campground owners and promoting camping in Maine.
Norway Savings Bank Arena, at 985 Turner St., is operated by the city of Auburn and is a full-entertainment venue that hosts sporting events, family shows and trade shows.
The Maine Campground Owners Association's Vacationland RV & Camping Show will be be held at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn for the next five years. The dates:
2023: March 31, April 1-2
2024: April 5-7
2025: April 4-6
2026: April 10-12
2027: April 2-4
