CES Inc., a Bangor-based firm of engineers, environmental scientists, and land surveyors, has acquired Haley and Ward Inc., a Massachusetts engineering firm.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed in a Tuesday news release.
Haley and Ward’s office in Maynard, Mass., is now CES’ first brick-and-mortar presence in Massachusetts and the firm’s second acquisition outside Maine. With the addition of Haley and Ward’s 13 employees, CES employs over 115 people across seven locations in Maine, a recently acquired branch in Fort Myers, Fla., and the Maynard location.
CES said it plans to retain all Haley and Ward staff and that the firm’s president and owner, Scott Miller, will stay on as a vice president and regional manager. The Maynard operation will be known as Haley and Ward, a division of CES.
Founded in 1897, Haley and Ward is a civil and environmental engineering firm primarily focused on water supply plans, designs, and construction.
“We are excited to welcome all of Haley and Ward’s employees and clients to the CES team,” said CES President and CEO Denis St. Peter. “In addition to the rare opportunity to acquire a firm that has served clients well over a century, Haley and Ward appealed to us because of our similar cultures.”
Miller commented: “This was a win-win for us. Not only do our clients benefit from the additional services and capacity CES has, but our employees gain new opportunities to grow their careers.”
