Bangor Savings Bank is expanding its corporate services team with the hiring of John Massey as corporate services officer.
In his new role, he will help provide clients with customized banking solutions to enhance cash flow, automate processes, manage risk and more. He will be based at the bank’s branch at 5 Senator Way in Augusta.
Danielle Ahern, senior vice president and director of payments and corporate services, said of Massey: “Our clients will greatly benefit from his in-depth knowledge of complex business tax requirements and his commitment to customer service.”
Massey brings over a decade of experience in public accounting and addressing tax and financial statement needs for Maine businesses and nonprofits. While in the field, he held senior accounting positions at, most recently, OneRiver CPAs and Samet & Co.
“My extensive experience addressing the complex tax and financial needs of Maine businesses and nonprofits has prepared me for this opportunity to support the corporate banking services team, delivering on our 'You Matter More' promise and ensuring that our clients thrive,” Massey told Mainebiz.
Massey received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s in management from Merrimack College. He is also a certified public accountant.
Bangor Savings, founded in 1852, has more than 60 branches in Maine and New Hampshire, as well as business and loan production offices in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
With nearly $7.5 billion in assets as of June 30, 2023, Bangor Savings topped the list of the largest Maine-based banks in the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
