Bank of America names new Maine president
Bank of America has named Falmouth resident Bill Williamson its Maine state president, replacing Betsey Timm, who served as Bank of America state president since 2004.
Williamson has been with the company since joining a predecessor institution in 1981, according to a press release from Bank of America. As state president, Williamson will help integrate Bank of America business lines throughout Maine, attract new customers and retain current customers. He will also oversee corporate social responsibility activities including philanthropic giving, community development lending and investing, environmental initiatives and employee volunteerism. The bank's Maine headquarters are in Portland.
Williamson is a senior client manager in Bank of America's Global Commercial Bank, serving public and private companies in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. He's a Maine native and graduate of Colby College.
Bank of America Enterprise Marketing and Market President Executive Meredith Verdone said his reputation among nonprofit and community leaders helped him get the job. He's served on the boards of the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce and the Susan Curtis Foundation, and currently serves on the board of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.
Timm is one of Bank of America's longest-tenured state presidents, according to the release. She will retire in June.
