Base redeveloper lands $445K federal grant

The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority has received a $445,000 grant from the federal government to make improvements at its Brunswick Executive Airport.

The Bangor Daily News reported the money adds to a total of $1.78 million the redevelopment authority has received in federal grants this year. Around $1.34 million of those grants will support the renovation of terminal buildings, and the rest will support other repairs and airport equipment.

In total, the redevelopment authority has received $8.8 million in federal grants to help with the conversion of the former naval air station for civilian use.
