The city of Bath has hired Lindsey Goudreau, a 28-year-old former marketing communications specialist at Maine Behavioral Healthcare, to help market Bath and promote its economic development — the first staffer dedicated to that role.
Goudreau started work Oct.31 as the city’s marcom specialist, a new role created this fall after a shake-up in city staffing, The Forecaster reported Tuesday.
After the August resignation of Director of Planning and Development Andrew Deci, Planner Ben Averill was promoted and took on most of Deci’s duties. But economic development functions were divided among other staff and the open marketing communications position.
Goudreau is now responsible for the city’s social media, website, newsletters, brochures and public relations.
“We feel that this position provides the city the opportunity to better communicate with its residents about projects and issues,” Assistant City Manager Marc Meyers said last week. “From an economic development standpoint, we feel this position will also help market all that Bath has to offer to audiences locally, regionally and nationally.”
