Brunswick approves Mölnlycke TIF

Months after a wholesale tax increment financing agreement for the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority fell apart, the Brunswick Town Council approved a TIF pact for one of its key tenants.

Mölnlycke, a Swedish health care product manufacturer, could receive $13 million through a 20-year agreement approved by Brunswick councilors Tuesday, according to The Times Record. The deal now requires approval from the state's Department of Economic and Community Development.

Local officials in early September curtailed talks of a larger TIF agreement for the former naval base property now being reconfigured for civilian use, according to The Forecaster.
