Brunswick gets downtown grant
Brunswick has received a $350,000 grant from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development to help develop Maine Street Station, a proposed train station and shopping center.
The Municipal Investment Trust Fund grant is part of a $1.5 million bond approved by voters last year. Eight towns, including Biddeford and Brunswick, will receive grants to improve their downtowns.
Brunswick also received word last week it will likely get an $850,000 grant from the federal Economic Development Administration for the project, the Brunswick Times Record reported.
