Buxton internet technology service provider ITS Inc. was acquired by Grand Rapids, Mich.-based financial technology company Acrisure, the eighth largest insurance broker in the world, according to a trade group ranking.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We look forward to providing our valued customers with access to new and exciting solutions soon,” said Rob Connary, ITS’s former president and now a principal at Acrisure.
ITS, which has seven employees, came to Acrisure's attention when ITS worked on several projects with one of the early acquisitions by Acrisure, Connary told Mainebiz.
The acquisition will expand Acrisure’s IT offerings.
ITS was established in 2001 as the merged entity of two Maine corporations, Link Consulting Inc. and Information Technology Integrators Inc. ITS provides system design, integration and consulting services to a variety of industries that include manufacturing, distribution, health care and education. Its client base spans North America.
Acrisure was founded in 2005. It has $3.9 billion in revenue and operates in 15 countries, according to its website.
Acrisure provides customers with intelligence-driven financial services solutions for insurance, reinsurance, real estate services, cyber services and asset and wealth management. It recently took on the naming rights to the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The acquisition expands Acrisure’s footprint in the enterprise IT market and affords ITS access to the scale, solutions and technology of Acrisure, according to the release.
The entire ITS team will be retained as part of the acquisition.
