The Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of breakfast forums focusing on economic development in the region.
The four-part forum, "Business revolution: Are you ready for tomorrow?" will include sessions on innovation, mill redevelopment, the biomedical cluster and energy, according to a press release from the chamber. The series will replace the chamber's Early Bird Breakfast events for the final four months of the year, with the first event happening Sept. 22 in Orono.
"We chose to start the series with innovation to emphasize just how important a concept this is for our region," John Porter, president and CEO of the chamber, said in the release. "This concept is particularly important in the Bangor region, where industries have traditionally been vertically integrated and often isolated from other entities. That's the exact opposite of how we need to think going forward."
The Sept. 22 breakfast event begins at 7 a.m. The cost is $15 for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers.
