Subscribers of The Good Thing, the monthly coffee-and-vinyl-record delivery club from the Portland-based Tandem Coffee Roasters and KMA, an audio equipment and vinyl record store also in Portland, will be getting their June coffee and vinyl fix any day now.

May was the first month for the $30 subscription, which came with a honey-processed single-origin coffee from Muramvya, Burundi and John Coltrane's "Blue Train," first released in 1958, according to Roast Magazine’s Daily Coffee News.

The success of The Good Thing already looks promising, as Tandem and KMA reached their subscription cap for its first delivery.

“The plan right now is to add five to 10 every month, depending,” Tandem co-owner Will Pratt told Roast Magazine about the number of subscribers of The Good Thing.

Pratt added that vinyl selections from The Good Thing will range in genres including jazz, folk, metal and indie rock. KMA and Tandem will trade off months to decide what album will be included.

And for the month’s coffee selection? It’s all up to what bean is in season at the time.

“This isn’t a way to get rid of past-crop coffees or anything like that,” Pratt told Roast Magazine. “It will be a new exciting coffee that we really want people to have, and a record that we love.”
