Cross Insurance, a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp., said it acquired the Lougee Insurance Agency in Duxbury, Mass., which provides insurance protection for individuals and businesses in Duxbury and surrounding South Shore communities.
In January 2012, Lougee Insurance merged with the Corcoran & Havlin Insurance Group, a division of Cross Insurance. The combination of the two firms has further strengthened Lougee Insurance’s ability to provide customers with insurance service and risk management advice.
“This first-class organization is a well-known and long-standing agency in Duxbury and the surrounding South Shore communities," said Jonathan Cross, president of Cross Insurance. “We are extremely pleased the Lougee team has joined Cross and we look forward to having them as part of our leadership team.”
Since its founding in 1954, Cross Insurance has grown through the acquisition of more than 120 insurance agencies throughout the Northeast. The company now has over 1,000 employees operating out of offices in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida.
With the recent hire of Ed Rovegno as risk management director, Cross Insurance — Duxbury will become the flagship personal insurance advisory to the Duxbury region.
Rovegno will serve as the leader of the Duxbury location and will work closely with the agency’s service team of Christine Lougee Smith and Lori Regan. They will continue to lead its new and existing client base as the agency has done since l967.
“We are looking forward to the future and the growth opportunities that this new relationship will bring,” said Ed Rovegno. “We believe this rebranding with Cross Insurance will only enhance our focus to offer products and services for new and existing clients that we have provided asset protection for many years.”
“Our new brand identity marks another milestone for the Lougee Insurance Agency legacy,” said George Doherty, president of Lougee Insurance and the Corcoran & Havlin Insurance Group. “Since we partnered with Lougee Insurance 10 years ago, the agency has been a tremendous resource in providing the tools necessary for us to advance our organization forward, which has resulted in geographic growth in our unique sector of personal risk insurance.”
