Decade-long York pizzeria feud coming to an end
The town of York has issued four building permits to Spiro Paras for work on his family’s former pizzeria building on Railroad Avenue.
Seacoastonline.com reported the permits could be the part of a mutual movement to resolve an almost decade-long stalemate between the town, Paras and his parents Eleni and Ernest Paras. Paras has said the town has been unreasonable and discriminatory and the town has said Paras has done work without a permit. Paras still needs a state fire marshal’s life safety permit.
In 2017, the Bangor Daily News reported that Paras’s family pizza parlor has been closed since 2010, when the town ordered renovation work at the site to stop, arguing the family had not obtained proper work permits.
In 2010, the Portsmouth Herald reported that two commercial tenants of the Paras building, Readings by Pauline and Amarrrama, moved to other locations.
