E2Tech interim leader steps up to become permanent executive director
Melissa Winne, a policy and legislative specialist who has been with E2Tech for three years, is the organization's new executive director. Winne was unanimously selected by E2Tech's board after serving as interim director following the departure of Jeff Marks.
The Environmental & Energy Technology Council of Maine, better known as E2Tech, has promoted a new executive director from within.
Melissa Winne, a policy and legislative specialist who has been with E2Tech for three years, will lead the organization, whose mission is to grow Maine’s clean-tech economy.
She will drive promotion of the organization and maintain E2Tech's role as “a credible convener of public, private, and nonprofit leaders in Maine's cleantech, environmental, and energy sectors,” E2Tech said in a press release Wednesday.
She replaces Jeff Marks, who announced his resignation in December.
Winne, who had served as interim director, was a unanimous selection of the board.
"She is a true champion of Maine's energy, environmental, and clean technology sectors, and will be instrumental in growing these important sectors in Maine. Her program experience will be imperative in continuing E2Tech's role in bringing people together to learn and discuss energy and environmental topics,” Patrick Coughlin, who is board chairman and also principal and director of engineering and Sentry EHS at St. Germain Collins, said in the press release.
Winne’s focus at E2Tech has been policy and legislation that directly relates to the E2Tech community, cultivating connections and content management.
E2Tech members include electric utilities and renewable energy companies, manufacturers, environmental engineers, emerging entrepreneurs, innovators and designers, as well as government agencies, educational institutions and nonprofits
"E2Tech has attracted a dedicated network of innovators and leaders in the environmental, energy, and cleantech sectors and I am passionate about showcasing their successes and continuing to foster economic and job growth," Winne said. "I truly believe in the mission of E2Tech and I am thrilled to continue the vital work and support that E2Tech provides."
