E2Tech plans gubernatorial debate over energy-related issues
The Environmental & Energy Technology Council of Maine, better known as E2Tech, is hosting a gubernatorial debate on issues of “energy, environment, technology and economic development” on Sept. 13 at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
The event, which includes a networking breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., will be held at Hannaford Hall within USM’s Abromson Center, 88 Bedford St. The moderated debate will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
According to a notice posted on the E2Tech website, Independent candidates Alan Caron and Terry Hayes have confirmed they will attend, along with Democratic candidate Janet Mills. E2Tech indicated that Republican candidate Shawn Moody has been invited but hasn’t confirmed yet that he will participate.
E2Tech stated its purpose in hosting the debate is to “help ensure that Maine voters are informed about the facts and policy objectives regarding these important issues straight from the candidates themselves.”
