East-west highway would have recreation trails
Planners of a proposed east-west highway from Calais to Coburn Gore said the project includes a recreation trail for snowmobiles, ATVs and hikers that could eventually accommodate installation of utility lines.
The Bangor Daily News reported the latest details emerged in an exchange between Sangerville Town Manager David Pearson and Darryl Brown, Cianbro project manager, over the details of the plan.
Brown wrote in a letter that the company still has not determined a final route for the proposed private toll highway.
