ERA Dawson-Bradford Co. in Bangor is expanding into midcoast Maine through the acquisition of ERA Cousens Realty in Rockland.
ERA Dawson-Bradford has operated in greater Bangor and throughout central and eastern Maine since 1974. Jon and Nancy Dawson started the business and operated it in Bangor for 40 years, and now work with their daughter Julie, who purchased the business with her husband, Brian. It has more than 75 agents at offices in Bangor and Orono.
Russell Wolfertz Jr. of ERA Cousens credited ERA Dawson-Bradford for its “commitment to continue working with members of the existing team.”
He added, “I’m also happy that members of my own family will be staying on with this agency.”
Julie Dawson Williams, owner and CEO of ERA Dawson Bradford, said she has known Wolfertz and his family “essentially for my entire life.”
She continued, “the Wolfertz family has been friends with my parents, Jon and Nancy, for decades. They share many of the same values as we do, both in family and in business. My husband Brian and I are guiding our business with those same values at the forefront of all we do, and we are excited about continuing the respect and tradition of quality service and commitment to community from ERA Realtors in the midcoast region.”
Real estate sales continue to be strong throughout Maine.
In the Rockland area specifically, average sale prices have increased from $272,000 in February 2021 to $387,000 in 2022, an increase of more than 42%.
With last week's acquisition, ERA Dawson-Bradford will bring on six agents from the ERA Cousens team based in Rockland.
