Ex-Home Depot building sold in Bangor

A former Home Depot building has been sold to a Massachusetts-based developer as part of its plan to repurpose the building into a BJ’s Wholesale Club.

The 114,448-square-foot building was sold to Saxon Partners for $3.55 million, according to the Mainebiz Real Estate Insider, a weekly newsletter. The transaction, which was brokered by NAI The Dunham Group and Excess Space Atlantic Retail, closed on Jan. 8.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Longview Development, a subsidiary formed by Saxon Partners, plans to invest $11 million into renovating the building and dividing it into a 94,000-square-foot space for the national retailer and a 28,000-square-foot space that does not have a tenant lined up yet. BJ’s Wholesale Club is set to open this fall.
