Feds dole out $52M for ME education

Maine is receiving an additional $52 million in stimulus funds for the state's school districts.

The $52.2 million will help school districts avoid "substantial cuts," Rep. Mike Michaud said in a release. To date, Maine has received nearly $349 million through the recovery act for education. The state has reported that recovery act investments have provided funding for more than 350 education jobs from Jan. 1 to March 31, according to the release.
