A firm specializing in international law opened recently on Exchange Street, offering services to companies considering doing business in Caribbean and Latin American countries.
The firm, Meridian 361 International Law Group PLLC, is led by Ron Jenkins, a lawyer from Virginia who is also licensed to practice in Wales, England, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, according to a press release. His partner, Juan Pablo Rodriguez, heads the Latin American division of the practice from offices in Valencia, Venezuela.
Jenkins offers offshore financial services, including offshore asset protection, offshore captive insurance and offshore fund management. Before going into private practice, he was a Judge Advocate and captain in the U.S. Air Force and an international strategy consultant with the Monitor Group in London.
Jenkins maintains a specialized practice in civil anti-terrorism and recently filed a suit on behalf of American victims in a Washington, D.C., federal district court against the Syrian Arab Republic and the Syrian military intelligence for their alleged roles in the 2005 hotel bombings in Amman, Jordan.
