Former Ames location will bounce back into use

The 40,000-square-foot building on Stillwater Avenue that was home to an Ames Department Store until 2002 will be getting an unexpected new lease on life as the Orono Trampoline Park.

The Bangor Daily News reports that Lewiston businessman David Cheng is in the midst of converting the sprawling space into the indoor trampoline park, which will be modeled after the Aero Air Park in Lewiston.

“This one is much, much bigger at 40,000 square feet,” Cheng told the BDN. “There will be a lot of fun right here.”

In addition to offering the chance for visitors to bounce across several thousand square feet at their leisure, Cheng said that the space will also be home to an arcade and will bring 15 to 20 jobs to the Penobscot County town.
