Garage added to Jordan's Meat project

The developer building a 122-room Hampton Inn on the former Jordan's Meat property is seeking approval for a 207-space parking garage adjacent to the hotel.

The two-story garage would replace 90 surface parking spaces approved in April, according to The Forecaster. The first floor would be reserved for guests of the hotel and residents, while the second story would be available for the public for a fee or as leased parking. The plans submitted to the city planning department also included the addition of four townhouses along Middle Street, which would be built at a later date.

The $15 million project approved in April calls for a six-story, 95,000-square-foot building that will house the new hotel, a 180-seat restaurant and 12 condominium units. A fire on May 6 gutted what remained of the former Jordan's Meat factory but did not delay the project.
