ITC Capital Partners, a Georgia-based investment company that says on its website it seeks entrepreneurial partnerships that will achieve a minimum long-term return to its shareholders of 20% annually, has purchased Argo Contact Centers in Lewiston for an undisclosed price.
The Lewiston Sun Journal reported that Argo founder and CEO Jason Levesque announced the sale on Tuesday. Levesque told the newspaper that Argo’s 300 employees, including 200 in Lewiston, will retain their jobs under the new ownership.
Levesque, who was elected last fall as mayor of Auburn, retained the Argo call center’s headquarters in the former McCrory’s Department Store at 64 Lisbon St. in Lewiston, the newspaper reported. He told the Sun Journal that ITC Capital has entered into a long-term lease to keep Argo in that building and that the call center’s second location in Pittsfield also is leased to Argo.
“I realized back in early 2017 that in order for the company to continue to grow, we needed two things: capital and additional brainpower,” Levesque told the Sun Journal. “I had a lot of inquiries, but (ITC Capital) came to the table with the best plan, the most capital and the most knowledge.”
On its website, ITC Capital lists a portfolio of seven firms that include Argo and range from broadband services to a company that provides a video content management platform for businesses.
It describes Argo as a call center offering multi-lingual and omni-channel support 24/7, with state-of-the-art equipment and the expertise to help its clients “run a successful marketing campaign.”
