Gorham Savings Bank on Wednesday said Dimitri Michaud will serve as its new chief operating officer, reporting to Steve deCastro, the bank’s president and CEO.
Michaud succeeds Dan Hunter, who had also served as chief financial officer. Hunter retired at the end of 2021 after more than 20 years in the dual role. Jane Stack was named CFO last month.
Michaud brings nearly two decades of experience in business strategy and operations from leadership roles in the public and private sectors, the bank said.
Prior to joining the bank, Michaud was chief operating officer for HealthInfoNet, Maine’s statewide health information exchange. He also served as director of strategy and planning at UNUM Group (NYSE: UNM) and deputy commissioner of finance for the state of Maine. In those roles, he led technical and financial teams focused on executing a variety of strategic priorities.
“Dimitri’s a strategic thinker with an excellent track record of delivering on process improvement goals,” said deCastro. “We’re fortunate to add him to our senior leadership team.”
Michaud holds a bachelor of arts degree from Colby College and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He serves as a trustee for the Portland Museum of Art and for the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, and as a board member of the Maine Health and Higher Education Facilities Authority. Michaud resides in Kennebunkport with his family.
Founded in 1868, Gorham Savings Bank has 12 branches. It had $1.47 billion in assets as of June 30, 2021, and was the ninth-largest Maine-based bank, according to the 2022 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
