The Greater Bangor Association of Realtors announced a charitable donation of $31,280 to three community organizations: OHI, Penquis and the Elizabeth Levinson Center.
The contribution was made possible through association members, with a portion of the funds matched by the Maine Association of Realtors Foundation.
The donation underscores the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting local initiatives that enhance the well-being of individuals and families in the Bangor area.
OHI is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness by providing housing, community support and employment opportunities. Its programs promote independence, inclusion and dignity for they serve.
As a community action program, Penquis offers a wide range of services, including housing assistance, financial literacy programs, child development services and transportation solutions. Its mission is to alleviate poverty and create pathways to stability for families and individuals in need.
The Elizabeth Levinson Center is residential care facility providing compassionate support for children and adults with significant developmental disabilities and complex medical needs. Its work ensures that some of the most vulnerable members of the community receive the specialized care and support they deserve.
This donation will assist in furthering the missions of the organizations.
"As Realtors, we are not just in the business of buying and selling homes — we are invested in building stronger communities," said Emilie Bronson Blair, the association’s president.
The association supports local nonprofits and advocates for the well-being of individuals and families across Greater Bangor.
