Hill bows out of guv race

State Rep. Dawn Hill has dropped her campaign for 2010 governor, citing an overcrowded race.

Hill, of York, will instead run for state Senate in District 1, which represents Eliot, Kittery, Ogunquit, South Berwick and York, according to Seacoast Online. Current District 1 Sen. Peter Bowman recently announced he will not run for reelection in November.

Hill, one of the first to announce a bid for governor, cited the number of candidates running for governor as her reason for withdrawing. At least 21 people have registered for the gubernatorial campaign.
