Housekeeper and financial advisor among Avesta’s Core Award recipients

Avesta Housing, the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in Northern New England, recently honored the exemplary service and dedication of its employees with its Core Values Awards.

The awards are presented annually to four staff members who exemplify Avesta’s core values: 

  • Humanity: Care about people 
  • Stewardship: Manage resources responsibly, efficiently and sustainably 
  • Relationships: Seek meaningful interaction and effective collaboration 
  • Quality: Pursue excellence in all of the organization’s work

This year’s recipients are: 

  • Madisen Corcoran, senior financial advisor, Avesta HomeOwnership Center 
  • Roma Lama, housekeeper, 75 State St. 
  • Adealia Larrabee, personal support specialist, 75 State St. 
  • Shayne MacDonald, maintenance technician II, Avesta Housing

“This year’s Core Values Award recipients have gone above and beyond in their roles, and they consistently demonstrate quality in their work, nurture meaningful relationships, show exceptional stewardship and bring a focus on humanity to everything they do,” said Rebecca Hatfield, Avesta’s president and CEO. “They exemplify the spirit and mission of Avesta Housing.”

Avesta is a nonprofit affordable housing provider with more than 50 years of experience in affordable housing development and property management in Maine and New Hampshire. The organization is headquartered in Portland and operates 100 affordable properties, more than 3,100 apartments and two assisted living facilities, providing safe, affordable homes for more than 4,700 people. 

An additional 800 new homes are in the development pipeline.
