The Maine International Trade Center has announced the winners of its 2011 International Trade and Investment Awards. Casco-based Hancock Lumber was named Exporter of the Year.
Hancock over the last year successfully introduced Eastern White Pine to new international markets, according to a press release from MITC. The family-owned company was founded in 1848. Law firm Bernstein Shur was named Service Provider of the Year for its work in international transactions. Lewiston-based Falcon Performance Footwear was named Innovator of the Year for its use of specialty materials and custom manufacturing process. Lastly, Swedish company Mölnlycke Health Care was named Foreign Direct Investor of the Year for its acquisition of Rynel in Wiscasset in 2010 and its ongoing construction of a new facility at Brunswick Landing.
The four companies will be recognized during Maine International Trade Day on May 24 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
