Jasper’s in Ellsworth closes after 60 years
After 60 years in business, Jasper’s Restaurant in Ellsworth has served its last meal.
The Ellsworth American reported that owner Troy Adams, grandson of the restaurant’s founder, Jasper Tilden, has sold the restaurant to Xinsheng LLC, owned by Jiao Chen, owner of Shinbashi Restaurant in Ellsworth.
Adams, who took over in 2000, told the newspaper that the family-owned restaurant had been blessed with regular customers and longtime employees and noted the decision to close and sell the restaurant wasn’t easy.
“It’s sad, but I almost feel like it’s time,” he told the newspaper. “Sixty years is a good run.
