The Legislature has unveiled a list of 401 bill titles that lawmakers want on the agenda in January, including proposals to require two-thirds support for tax increases or decreases and lighter subjects, like making the lobster roll the official state sandwich.
The Bangor Daily News reported a group of six Democrats and four Republicans will meet Oct. 30 to decide which bills to bring before the Legislature in January, a decision that will be open to appeals in November. The state will also consider 213 bills carried over from the 126th Legislature’s first session that adjourned in July.
