The acquisition of Lewiston financial services company FISC Solutions by a Wisconsin software firm could lead to a doubling of the Lewiston firm’s workforce in the next two years.
Jerry Blodgett, president and CEO of FISC Solutions, told the Bangor Daily News the deal provides his company with access to a larger sales force in other parts of the country, opening up its potential market “tremendously.” He declined to provide the sale price paid by Wausau Financial Systems Inc. of Wisconsin other than saying it was a “multimillion-dollar deal.”
FISC Solutions offers back-office payment processing services for financial institutions, nonprofit organizations and other companies in Maine, and has long been a customer of Wausau, using its software for payment processing, the BDN reported.
Blodgett was one of the members of the company’s management team that bought the firm last year from Androscoggin Bank and Norway Savings Bank.
There are currently 75 employees at FISC’s Lisbon Street office in Lewiston. If the company expands, it would add new employees as it gains clients, Blodgett told the Bangor Daily News.
Wausau is a subsidiary of the publicly traded Deluxe Corp. of Minnesota, which prints bank checks and offers other financial services.
