Maine gas prices fall, but still exceed national average
The average cost of a gallon of gas in Maine has fallen 2 cents to $3.68, but that’s still 11 cents higher than the national average, The Associated Press reports.
Still, the prices in Maine are more than 15 cents lower than they were this time last year, and almost 10 cents less than one month ago, according to the price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com.
According to the AP report, a MaineGasPrices.com analyst says he’s optimistic prices will continue their move downward as the summer driving season winds down.
The Maine prices are based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations.
