Maine State Chamber hosts timely forum on 'ACA for Businesses'
Will there be an Affordable Care Act in a year or two? And if it survives repeated attempts in the Republican-controlled Congress to kill it, how many of its requirements for businesses with 50 or fewer employers will remain in place?
All the uncertainties surrounding the ACA give the Maine State Chamber of Commerce’s annual ACA for Businesses forum on Wednesday a timeliness that should prove helpful to HR directors, business owners and others who are responsible for their company’s health insurance policies.
The forum will be held March 7, from 8-11 a.m., at the Senator Inn & Spa in Augusta.
Joining state and national experts this year will be health policy experts from the offices of U.S. Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Angus King, I-Maine, and U.S. Reps. Chellie Pingree, D-1st District Maine, who will present information on what employers need to know about the ACA heading into 2018. Topics that are expected to be covered include: What next? The status of health care reform: Are we at the crisis point with the ACA? What is the future of health insurance in 2018?
