Maineiacs might stay put

The new head coach for the Lewiston Maineiacs is saying the team might not be moving to Quebec after all.

Don MacAdam told the Sun Journal that the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team wasn't going anywhere, despite notifying league officials in January of its intent to relocate. Arenas in Boisbriand, Quebec, and, most recently, Fredericton, N.B., were discussed as new homes for the team, which has been playing at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee for five years and considered an economic driver for the city of Lewiston.

Jim Cain, president of Firland Management, which owns the Colisee, said Tuesday he has plans to meet with Maineiacs' officials today, reported the paper.
