Maine's Clear Channel stations sold
Radio and Records is reporting that Blueberry Broadcasting LLC has closed on its deal to buy 17 Clear Channel stations in Maine for $11 million.
A pair of veteran Maine broadcaster, Louis Vitali and Bruce Biette, said in early May they would buy the stations and finalize the purchase in September after receiving approval from the Federal Communications Commission. Neither was reachable for comment Thursday morning.
There are reports of lay-offs at one of the stations, WTOS in Skowhegan, but they could not be verified before The Daily's deadline.
