Maine’s jobless numbers hit new low
Maine’s unemployment rate dipped to 4.1% in November, the lowest figure since 2002, according to the state Department of Labor and the Associated Press.
The DOL said the preliminary, seasonally adjusted jobless number fell slightly from the 4.3% in October and even more from the 5.5% a year ago. The number of people not employed fell 10,500 over the year to 27,900.
In New England, the unemployment rate was 4.6% for the month, whereas nationwide, it was 5%, unchanged from October but down from the 5.8% a year ago.
