Elevation Burger is looking at an early-to mid-April opening in 2,450 square feet of retail space at 461 Stillwater Ave. in Bangor, the Bangor Daily News reported.
It will be the second Elevation Burger in the country to have a drive-thru, franchise co-owner Mark Caron told the paper.
In Maine, the chain has locations in Augusta, Portland and South Portland, also co-owned by Caron.
According to the company’s website, Elevation Burger is an American fast casual restaurant chain that originated with founder Hans Hess, who opened the first location in Falls Church, Va. The chain’s mantra is “100% organic, grass-fed, free-range beef burgers,” with french fries cooked in heart-healthy olive oil. The chain began franchising in 2008, and now has locations in the eastern United States and in the Middle East, including Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
According to a 2015 article by Food Business News, grass-fed beef rides the cusp of the “natural” trend that’s high among culinary types the last several years. About one in three consumers say they’re eating “natural” foods more often, according to Technomic, a Chicago-based researcher of food trends, the report says.
At Bangor’s Elevation Burger, the drive-thru window sits on the wall closest to nearby business Hobby Lobby.
