A Massachusetts environmental services firm has expanded into Maine with a facility at 40 Mechanic St. in South Portland.
Boston Green Environmental Services, which is based in Lakeville, Mass., was founded in 1994 and provides hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, environmental remediation and emergency response, including transportation and disposal, environmental remediation and specialty services.
Boston Green has been doing business in Maine for more than a decade, but previously from the Massachusetts base, a spokesperson told Mainebiz. Now it will have a operations site in southern Maine.
“This new location strengthens our ability to provide timely, reliable and sustainable environmental solutions to our customers, ensuring we remain a trusted partner for businesses here in Maine,” said Matt Stockwell, general manager.
The market opportunity in Maine includes petroleum-related wastes, which are a large part of Boston Green’s business.
The South Portland location is open but still ramping up. The company plans to hire truck drivers, salespeople and field technicians.
The company also recently expanded to Hooksett, NH., near Manchester. It now has three facilities.
