U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud moved closer to announcing a gubernatorial run this week, launching a campaign website and forming what he called an exploratory campaign committee.
The Bangor Daily News reported Maine's 2nd District congressional representative has not set a date for deciding whether he will officially register as a candidate.

David Slagger, a former Maliseet representative in the Maine House, has also announced his gubernatorial campaign to run as a Green-Independent.
Michaud's announcement also has drawn increased speculation and interest from politicians hoping to take over his congressional seat, the paper reported.
