Navy seeks developer for Kittery shipyard prison
The Navy has launched a third attempt to bring in private-sector developers to rehabilitate the former prison at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery.
The Associated Press reported the Navy is seeking parties interested in a long-term lease that would include restoring the structure, which dates back 106 years. The Navy would approve the type of development because the former prison is on an active-duty Navy shipyard.
