New Colisee owner to change operations
The soon-to-be new owner of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston is planning to make major changes in the way the arena is operated.
Firland Management, an ice rink operator based in Veazie, recently told city officials it would run the Colisee principally as an ice rink, and will move away from hosting entertainment events such as concerts, according to a press release from the city.
As a result, Firland is not expected to renew a contract with Global Spectrum, a Philadelphia-based arena operator that has been running events at the Colisee since 2003.
