NewHeight Group, a real estate development group in Portland, broke ground June 18 on Verdante at Lincoln Park, a 31-unit condominium project in Portland’s East End. The 65,000-square-foot building will be located across from Lincoln Park, along Franklin and Federal streets featuring, according to a news release.

The units will range from one to three bedrooms and feature shared amenities, including a fitness room, guest room, outdoor deck and indoor parking.

“Verdante at Lincoln Park homes are designed to be modern, green and energy-efficient, making the best use of cutting-edge building materials and available space, with a thoughtful approach to each of the elements that maximize living, working and playing in Portland,” Erin Cooperrider, principal at NewHeight Group, said in the release.

Verdante at Lincoln Park is being developed in partnership with Archetype Architects, Wright-Ryan Construction and Machias Savings Bank. It’s expected the project will be completed by 2020, according to NewHeight’s website.

The project is part of a condo boom in Portland, with hundreds of new units being planned, under construction and recently completed. They includes developments such as Hobson’s Landing at the former Rufus Deering Lumber site; Stevens Square at Baxter Woods, in Deering Center; and “workforce housing” condos at Parris Terraces in Bayside.
